Food is Good ~ een Winkelreview

Een van de dingen die ik graag doe is op onderzoek uitgaan. Als echte informatie-junkie ben ik altijd opzoek naar meer informatie over voeding en gezondheid en waar je de beste spullen kunt krijgen, het liefst voor het minste geld ook nog eens een keer. 

Dit kost enorm veel tijd, maar – zoals ik al zei – vind ik dat niet zo erg, ik vind het leuk om te doen. Niet iedereen denkt daar echter hetzelfde over.

Dus toen ik in 2009 leerde over Weston A. Price en ik álles daarover aan het uitzoeken was: wat eet je wel, wat niet en waarom, hoe maak je het klaar, waar vind ik recepten en waar vind ik de benodigdheden? Toen bedacht ik dat ik mijn zoektocht wel eens kon gaan opschrijven opdat anderen dat niet ook nog eens hoefden te doen. Dat werd dit blog de Voedzame Keuken (voorheen Iris kookt Echt Eten).

 

Bedrijven die passen bij de Voedzame Keuken

In de loop der tijd is de Voedzame Keuken enorm gegroeid en zijn er regelmatig bedrijven die een samenwerking aan willen gaan. Uiteraard kijk of ik zo’n bedrijf passend vind bij mijn filosofie.

Een van die bedrijven is Food is Good, vooral bekend van de webwinkel GezondeNotenKopen.nl. Food is Good is  zelf ooit begonnen uit eigen onvrede over de prijs en het niet eenvoudig online beschikbaar zijn van goede voeding. Hun doel is dan ook om mooie, kwalitatief hoogstaande producten te kunnen aanbieden voor een scherpe prijs, in een webshop die helder en overzichtelijk is.

 

Drie in Eén

Food is Good heeft drie verschillende shops, te weten:

  • Gezondenotenkopen.nl, een shop met een uitgebreid assortiment aan noten, zaden en pitten en ook zuidvruchten.
  • Gezondechocoladekopen.nl, je raadt het al: daar kun je de heerlijkste soorten chocolade kopen van verschillende merken, naturel of met allerlei heerlijke toevoegingen zoals kokos en zeezout.
  • Gezondetheekopen.nl, daar koop je uiteraard de heerlijkste theesoorten. Groene thee, witte thee, kruidenthee, rooibos, fruit- of specerijenthee, maar zwarte theesoorten heb ik er niet kunnen ontdekken. Jammer voor de komboecha met zwarte thee, maar mooi voor de jun, die groene of witte thee!

Een Pakket om uit te Proberen

Om een indruk te krijgen van hun assortiment, heb ik een fijn pakket thuisgestuurd gekregen. Uit elk van hun 3 winkels zaten er een aantal producten in.  Al dat lekkers bleef de kinderen natuurlijk niet ongemerkt, dus we waren er snel doorheen met z’n 5-en… Alleen van de meeste thee is nog over, omdat we dat niet zoveel meer drinken tegenwoordig.

Noten

De zak met gemengde noten heb ik geweekt en gedroogd en in de kast opgeborgen tot ik een keer iets ga maken waarvoor ik noten nodig heb.

Repen

De verschillende Norman’s repen hebben we steeds verdeeld, zodat iedereen ze kon proeven. De meningen waren daarover verdeeld, want ja, zoveel mensen, zoveel smaken. Zo houdt de een niet van vruchtjes in een reep, de ander houdt weer niet van witte chocola (ik dus…) en een derde niet van gember. Maar eigenlijk is dat alleen maar mooi, want er was voor iedereen wel iets bij dat ze lekker vonden.

Muesli Mini’s

Zelf zou ik ze niet zo gauw kopen, net zo min als de MadeGood Muesli Mini’s trouwens. Dat soort zaken maak ik liever zelf, dan kan ik precies die ingrediënten gebruiken die ik of de andere familieleden lekker vinden en dan kan ik de noten, zaden en granen van te voren weken om het fytinezuur. Voor af en toe eens een keertje echter is het natuurlijk wel erg makkelijk en ook lekker!

Erg leuk van de MadeGood Muesli is dat er geen noten en pinda’s in gebruikt zijn, alleen glutenvrije haver en dat ze ook nog wat te bieden hebben aan voedingsstoffen, omdat er 6 verschillende groenten in verwerkt zijn. Heel veel zul je er niet mee binnenkrijgen, maar altijd beter dan niks of iets dat praktisch alleen maar suiker en verkeerde vetten bevat!

Reep chocola van 100% Cacaobonen!

Het leukst vond ik nog de chocoladereep. Deze was van 100% cacaobonen gemaakt. Puurder kan dus niet. Nu heb ik eerder een hele pure reep mogen proeven en dat vond ik toen niet zo’n succes. Dat was nu anders, omdat op de binnenkant van de wikkel een ’tasting advice’ stond. En dat werkte! En zelfs manlief, die helemaal niet van pure chocola houdt, kon deze chocola op deze manier nog waarderen!

Het leuke is ook dat 1 blokje gewoon genoeg is, terwijl een reep met suiker, ook al is het een 75 of zelfs een 85%  reep, daarbij blijf ik de neiging hebben ervan te moeten blijven eten!

Een mooi pakket dus, met kwalitatief hoogwaardige producten waar over nagedacht is. Mooie ingrediënten, geen goedkope meuk, maar gewoon goed!

 

De Webshop

En natuurlijk heb ik zelf ook wel eens wat gekocht bij Food is Good en ik kan je zeggen dat dat allemaal soepel en snel verloopt. Daar is voor mij niets op aan te merken.

Drie in één

Omdat het 3 winkels zijn, denk je misschien dat je 3 x apart moet bestellen, mocht je zowel thee, als chocola en noten willen. Maar dat is gelukkig ook niet het geval. Bovenaan elke winkel vind je een knop waar staat: Shop verder in:… en dan kun je kiezen uit een van de andere winkels. Alles wat je dan in je winkelmandje stopt, wordt toegevoegd bij wat je koos uit de vorige shop.

Wat mij betreft had dit wel iets duidelijker aangegeven mogen worden. Ik vraag me af of iedereen dit doorheeft, dat het zo werkt…

Vormgeving

De vormgeving van de winkels vind ik altijd wat onrustig op de een of andere manier. Het had van mij wel wat helderder, strakker gemogen.  Ik denk dat vooral de dunne lijntjes die vaak nergens op uitkomen  daar debet aan zijn. Maar dit is wel een heel ander onderwerp, dat ik als grafisch ontwerper misschien alleen zie…

Assortiment

Het assortiment van de drie winkels bij elkaar vind ik mooi en overzichtelijk. Je kunt als winkel ook te veel hebben en dat je door de bomen het bos niet meer ziet, of uren online aan het kijken bent of er nog meer is dat je in je winkelmandje wilt stoppen. Met het risico dat je altijd meer koopt dan je eigenlijk nodig hebt…

Als ik kijk naar het aanbod van chocola, dan vind ik dat wel wat aan de magere kant. Er is inmiddels zoveel op dat gebied…

Qua theesoorten is er lekker veel diversiteit, al mis ik er toch wel het een en ander, zoals eerder genoemd de zwarte thee, maar daar is vast een goede reden voor. Ook pu-erh thee ontbreekt helaas. Wel zag ik dan weer hennepthee, dat is natuurlijk wel weer erg leuk om een keer te proberen!

Het aanbod van noten en zuidvruchten is naar mijn idee dan weer prima, zo op het oog mis ik daar niet echt iets opvallends aan.
